Guidelines
- Papers will be led by 3-4 students. The discussion should last about
30 minutes.
- Prior to the course: Students should use NotebookLM
to create a podcast of each ofthe four papers, and listen to all
podcasts.
- During the course: Students will divide into three
groups and choose 3 of the papers to discuss. Each group will lead the
discussion of one paper, and participate in the discussion of the other
two papers.
- The students leading the discussion should present
the paper: Background, goal, methods, main results. They should also be
able to explain the figures. They will ask leading questions to initiate
discussion about particular results / method / criticism, etc. Finally,
they will add a slide with their criticism on the podcast that
NotebookLM created.
- The students who are not leading: For each paper
discussion, students should have already read the abstract and listned
to the podcast, but looking at the figures is encouraged. Each student
should come prepared with 2 insightful comments/criticism/questions for
the discussion.
